“The library connects us with the insight and knowledge, painfully extracted from Nature, of the greatest minds that ever were, with the best teachers, drawn from the entire planet and from all our history, to instruct us without tiring, and to inspire us to make our own contribution to the collective knowledge of the human species. I think the health of our civilization, the depth of our awareness about the underpinnings of our culture and our concern for the future can all be tested by how well we support our libraries” – Carl Sagan
Library plays a very crucial role in supporting the academic programmes of the institution. It procures, identifies, processes, evaluates and makes available these learning resources to the faculty and students for their teaching, learning and research. That is why, DR. S. R. Ranganathan, father of library Science in India remarked that “the Library is the trinity of Learning Resources, Faculty/Students and the Library Staff”.
The library is the livewire of any institution. The college has a well-organized computerized library with a rich collection of more than 4000 books with multiple copies. The library is open from 9.30 a.m to 4.15 pm every day.
The general collection housed in the ground floor provides theoretical exposure to various disciplines. There are both Academic and General books available in this section (issue section). The books from the Issue Section can be taken out for reading.
The resources of the Reference Section contain a sizeable reference collection for quick retrieval of information through encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, yearbooks, textbooks, reference books etc. in different spheres of knowledge. It is the policy of the KVVSIT Central Library to update these reference sources periodically. These books cannot be taken outside.
